Hi everyone,
To start the process of adding the J-Pilot files to a PPA to make installation a little easier, I have set up a PPA on Launchpad that we can use. It is currently empty, but I wanted to send this out so everyone has the link.
https://launchpad.net/~jonreagan/+archive/ubuntu/j-pilot-ppa
Thanks,
Jon

Does anyone know if the tar.gz files used to make the .deb files are still around somewhere? The Ubuntu PPAs function much like the normal Ubuntu repositories and build the package through Launchpad. I should be able to pull the files together from github, but if the package folders used to build the .deb files are still around, it would speed things up a bit.
Thanks!
Jon

18.04
getting ready to up to 20.04
was able to in 16.04 but for some reason it doesn't seem to want to
connect in 18.04 haven't yet tried in 20.04 am having other issues with
20.04 that are more critical. I tend to stick with the LTS versions.

Are you in the dialout group? You probably need to be. You'll have to
log out and back in after adding yourself to the group. Also, try
syncing as root. A command like "pilot-xfer -p usb: -l" should test it
quickly.

Did you originally install J-Pilot from the repositories, or did you download the .debs from the J-Pilot web site?
Thanks,
