Similar issue with Linux Mint 20.4
I went from Ubuntu studio to Linux mint about a year ago. After an
update for about 6 month syncing is not possible.

debs from the repository with ubuntustudio and the with mint the debs
are missing so I used the the jpilot website. I tried an update a few
days ago on mint and there was a lot of dependency issues. I
uninstalled it and tried a new install still issues, jpilot is still on
my laptop running ubuntu studio 20.04. as soon as I have a bit of spare
time I am giving mint the boot and installing UbuntuStudio on the
desktop.
