Painted myself in a corner ...

Hello:

A couple of months ago I reviewed the passwords I was using and changed them.

One of them, of course, was the one on my Palm TX/ JPilot.

I even added a *hint*, something I had never ever done in more than 20 years of using Palms.

TL;DR: I have forgotten my PW and the hint does not bring up anything useful.

I can use the TX and access my JPilot installation but I am now locked out of my private records.

Can’t recall ever going through something like this and in just a week it has happened with my Palm *and* my NAS’ admin PW.

Fortunately I was able to mount the drive in my main box and edit the necessary file.

I’d appreciate a simple solution/suggestion.

eg: which file do I have to nuke in my Linux JPilot installation to have access to my records?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

JHM

The password hash is written to session_id in jpilot.rc.  Do you have an
older jpilot.rc file to use with the old password?

Good morning Judd:

Yes !

That did it. 8^)

The old one was blank, a consequence of something that happened some time ago (a hard reset or something like that).

Which prompted me to fix that and review the other passwords.

Thank you very much for your input.

JHM
