New J-Pilot version

Folks, has any one of you encountered a problem exporting the Jpilot
database to a CSV file on one computer running Ubuntu 24.04, then importing
the data into Jpilot (both 2.0.2) and finding the import resulted in almost
illegible data? If not, can anyone suggest what I did wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Off the list so we can just talk.

What is a *.deb package?  I can upload the packages I have as "all
debian", but I can't know that it'll work on them all until I have all
the distros to test with.  Back in the '00s I had 6-7 VMs that I would
build in for Slackware, Ubuntu and RedHat.  That seems pretty time
consuming now.

Thank you so much for maintaining J-Pilot and keeping it current.

I'd appreciate your considering the possibility of building a *.deb

package, if not for Debian

(which uses the infamous systemd) for Devuan which does not and uses

sysvinit as the

default init software.

I still use J-Pilot 1.8.2 in Devuan Daedalus and am quite happy with it.

ie: Linux devuan 6.1.0-26-amd64 #1 Debian 6.1.112-1

The *only* problem I foresee is that (eventually) my Palms will die

out but even so, J-Pilot will

without doubt continue to be my desktop organiser software.

Once again, tank you very much for your efforts.

Best,

JHM

I think I found the solution myself: I imported MemoDB.pdb and, voila, it
looks like it should.😀👍

Try this:

Late, because I was traveling: Thanks, now I can install it from this repository. (After a space here: "curl -s https".)

I can install an user via pilot-link. (pilot-link should be added to the dependencies!)

Jpilot starts, but did not synchronize the palm without any error message in the user interface:

werner@desktop12:~$ jpilot

command=100 [ Syncing on device usb:

command=100 [ Press the HotSync button now

The locale warning comes from my workaround (mixing locales) in KDE, because it does not support YYYY-MM-DD. The rest I don't understand.

It works now with dist=jammy. (dist=noble not tested.)

Yes, from the start. It is on my checklist.

Many thanks to Judd and Ulf! I am happy to have backup to PC back after long time. It was risky without.
