Elmar,
Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated.
For #1, The GtkFileChooserDialog widget for GTK3 does have right-click functionality in the list of files that allows one to choose to show/hide hidden files when browsing the folder tree. Just make sure "Show Hidden Files" is checked if you want them to show. The GTK3 interface doesn't make it obvious one can do that, and it took me a while to figure out right click was the answer when setting that up. I do think Judd making hidden files visible by default is a good idea.
Thanks again,
David Malia

Hi Elmar,
Thanks for testing this.

Hello,
thanks to juddmon and dmalia1 J-Pilot has been migrated to GTK+ 3. I tested
this version and found:
It does for me. I can type the hidden directory name and then enter. I
don't like this option much so I have made hidden directories show up in
the list.
This is fixed. It was due to a last minute compile warning fix. IMO,
by far the main cause of bugs and crashes I have encountered has been
due to fixing GTK compile warnings.
They were originally too far apart for me so I made them closer
vertically. I reverted this so it /should/ work for you now.
The broadway thing is really cool!
I included various screenshots for these glitches here:

Please pull the feature-gtk3 branch and try again and let me know. You
can also use the issues tab at https://github.com/juddmon/jpilot/issues .
BTW, I need to link to your sqlite page from jpilot.org. I lost access
to my site for a while and have not done it yet.
