Hi,

I have 4 Treo 680 here. They have the following software versions:

1: TREO680-1.04-ROW
2: TREO680-1.04-ROW
3: TREO680-2.12-ROW
4: TREO680-1.12-ROW

The 2 with 1.04 sync fine with JPilot, the others only sync with Palm-Desktop on Windows. With the 2 latter nothing happens after “Press HotSync Button”, and after a while I see “No connection … “ on the device.

Any Idea why?

I now discovered a surprise.
Because in my normal life I still use a Treo 650, I used a sync cable of this device.
Now I tried a Treo 680 cable, and now syncing works wit all Treo 680 and JPilot.
The Treo 650 cable connector is bigger and so additionally has power supply contacts for charging.
Result:
Sync with TREO680-1.04-ROW and Treo 650 cable works with JPilot
Sync with TREO680-1.12-ROW or 1.12 and Treo 650 cable does not work with JPilot
Sync with Windows Palm Desktop works with all combinations.

With the Treo 650 cable a Treo 680 device starts charging, and when starting a sync, the charging toggles on and off.
With the Treo 650 cable a Treo 650 device ironically does not charge.
So syncing and charging at the same time seems to conflict.
