I cannot say for sure but I think it happens if I shut-off the workstation and leave the Palm charging which it probably does not. I's have to check if any of the front panel's USB ports are on SB while the WS is shut-down. In any case, it is my understanding that the data cable can only do trickle charging. Maybe that is part of the problem? I don't recall this ever happening with the wall-wart charger and if this is so, I'd say it is related to the trickle charging or the Palm TX's USB port.
