My Palm TX does not want to turn on. I plugged it into the USB ...

I have this happen to me every so often and (I think) it has always been while left charging on
one pf my workstation's USB ports via the data/charge cable.

It is a nuisance but fortunately it gets fixed by doing a soft reset (just the back reset button).

I cannot say for sure but I think it happens if I shut-off the workstation and leave the Palm
charging which it probably does not. I's have to check if any of the front panel's USB ports
are on SB while the WS is shut-down.

In any case, it is my understanding that the data cable can only do trickle charging.
Maybe that is part of the problem?

I don't recall this ever happening with the wall-wart charger and if this is so, I'd say it is
related to the trickle charging or the Palm TX's USB port.

My Palm IIIs would drain the batteries if you left them in the craddle after a sync, something
which could apparently have been avoided with the addition of a $0.02 component on the
board.

I wonder if this is not some Palm deja-vu ...
