Palm TX issue

My Palm TX does not want to turn on. I plugged it into the USB power/data
cable but there's no life (perhaps it needs to sit there for a while
longer?). When I checked it last week the battery charge symbol looked fully
charged; perhaps the thin black line representing the charge level was so
close to the left (empty) end I missed seeing it?

A reset does nothing. A hard reset displays the orange Palm symbol, then the
grey screen with Palm on it. What appears to be the main display briefly
flashes and disappears leaving the grey screen showing.

It's worked fine up until now and I've no idea what else to try. (I just
ordered an A/C charger for it but that won't be here for a week.)

My spare TX has a dead battery. If there's no life in the one now charging
by tomorrow morning I'll charge that one and restore the handheld from
jpilot.

If you have any thoughts about this please share them with me. And, if you
have suggestions on cleaning the screen those would be helpful.

Regards,

Rich

Bob,

After sending my message I thought it might take several hours for
sufficient juice to boot and run. I've not before let the battery drain so
I've not experienced this before.

Thanks for the advice. From now on I'll put it on the charger (USB or
wall-wart) on a regular basis to keep it charged.

Thanks for the advice ... I'm taking it.

Stay well,

Rich
