I just got my Handspring Visor a couple of days ago.
I run Redhat 9.0 on my box.  I've been using the Yahoo
calendar for several years but now need to get the PDA
thing going.

I found jpilot and fired it up.  It looks like a fairly
simple interface.  Cool.

So for step one, I hooked up the Visor cradle (USB) to a
Windoze PC and did the sync thing from the Yahoo calendar and it
seems to have gone fine.

Then for step two, I moved the Visor cradle to my Redhat
box.  I was able to pull over the calendar database from
the Visor to the Redhat box using pilot-xfer.  So far so
good.

Then I fired up jpilot and like any jet pilot with one
wing missing, it went BOOM!  (John Madden sound effects here...)
It seemed to start (startup messages flying on the xterm),
the GUI started up and crashed immediately.  I suspect a
problem with the calendar database.

So I ran jpilot again with an strace in front of it and
it seemed to end with the following:
